We’re Here to Evangelize and Edify
The mission of First Baptist Church of Sumterville is simple — we exist to evangelize sinners, edify saints, and elevate our Savior. Everything we do, from our weekly bible study to our many ministries, is to support that mission.
We welcome people from all over to our community at First Baptist of Sumterville. It’s our goal to bring people together, united through Christ, and help them grow in their faith. Through everything we do, we aim to glorify God.

Our Faith
First Baptist Church of Sumterville is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), a body of like-minded churches working together to spread the Gospel. Despite the differences among many of these churches, we share a statement of faith that explains what we believe about the Bible, God, salvation, humanity, and other aspects of our faith. These beliefs are summarized in The Baptist Faith and Message, which can be found in its entirety here.
Our Church Building
The building where our church services are held was the building of the first school in Sumter County. We’re always looking for ways to support the growth of our congregation, allowing for more believers in Florida to gather together. We’re currently working on the plans for a new church building that will allow us to expand our ministries and better support our growing community.
